Q: What is the Barron County Habitat for Humanity ReStore?
A: The Barron County Habitat for Humanity ReStore is one of over 20 ReStores in the state of Wisconsin and over 650 in the United States. We accept new and used building materials from individuals, retailers, businesses and contractors. The ReStore acts as a fundraiser by selling these items to the general public at a fraction of retail prices, with all proceeds going to Barron County Habitat for Humanity.
Q: Is the Barron County Habitat for Humanity ReStore open to the Public?
A: YES! Anyone and everyone can donate, shop and volunteer at the ReStore during store hours. We encourage you to do so!
Q: How often does ReStore get new materials?
A: We receive donations every day that we are open. You never know what treasures you will find at the ReStore!
Q: Can I negotiate prices of merchandise?
A: The ReStore does not negotiate on prices with customers. Items that have been on the shelves for a certain period of time may be reduced in price by ReStore staff, but please remember, the proceeds from our store go directly to Habitat for Humanity and this is not a flea market.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: Appliances and electronics may be returned to the store within 2 weeks of purchase. Please bring a copy of your receipt.
Q: Do you use the donated materials to build Habitat Homes?
A: No. All donated materials are sold in the ReStore. The proceeds raised from selling these materials helps Barron County Habitat for Humanity build homes.
Q: How do I donate?
A: When you have items to donate to ReStore, call us at 715-458-4222 to let us now what you have- we will tell you if we are able to accept them or not. You can then bring your donated materials to the ReStore.
Q: Do you pick up items?
A: Yes. We arrange residential pick ups on most Tuesdays and Thursdays for those donors who have a large quantity of items. Whether you reside in a residence or are a business, call us at 715-458-4222 in order to schedule a pick up.
Q: Do I get a tax receipt for donating?
A: Yes! Habitat ReStore is part of Barron County Habitat for Humanity and a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization. All donations can receive a potential tax deduction..
Q: Are all ReStores the same?
A: No. Each ReStore is individually operated by the Habitat for Humanity affiliate office in that area. This means they do not all carry the same items, prices, policies, hours, etc.
Q: How do things get done at the ReStore?
A: Volunteers play a vital role in cashiering, donation intake, donation pick-ups, stocking shelves, pricing items, assisting customers, office work, cleaning and so much more! We simply could not survive without the dedication and commitment of our volunteers.
